Oregon Shakespeare Festival

There’s a reason so many of our Ashland properties are described as “steps to OSF.” Since 1935, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has drawn audiences from across the country to a small mountain town of 21,000 people — and it remains, without exaggeration, one of the finest repertory theatres in America.

Three venues sit on one leafy campus just off the downtown Plaza: the 600-seat Angus Bowmer Theatre, the intimate Thomas Theatre, and the open-air Allen Elizabethan Theatre, modelled on London’s original playhouses. The 2026 season runs from mid-March through late October, opening with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Tony-winning Come From Away, and Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun — ten productions in rotating repertory, so you can see three or four different shows across a single long weekend.

Book tickets well ahead; popular dates sell out months in advance. Arrive early for the free Green Show on the bricks before evening performances, and bring a layer — the Elizabethan is genuinely open to the Southern Oregon night sky, and it cools off fast after sunset.

Staying with us in downtown Ashland means the walk back is a few minutes, not a drive. Browse our Ashland stays and check availability for your festival dates.
